If you would like to have a pleasant floor register purchasing experience you will find it to be a very good idea indeed to measure your all your duct openings. Many times people measure one or two openings and then assume that the rest of them are all identical. Of course,it never works out that way and then one must deal with the financial pain and hassle of exchanging the wrong size heat vents for the correct size. In fact, it is not a bad idea at all to measure them ( and count them) more than once, just to be on the safe side. You will also want to make note of whether they are located on the floor, wall, or ceiling. Certain styles of registers will work on the floor or wall, but not on the ceiling. Some will be set up for wall mount right out of the box, and others will require special clips. There are a lot of different things to consider and we try to anticipate all possible questions that could come up, and it is a good idea to write down any questions you might have prior to contacting us so we can make sure everything goes smoothly. We have provided registers for many years and we know a lot about getting them configured correctly for you. So if we ask a lot of questions, please remember that we are trying to look at every possible angle so that you will have the best experience possible. We are not trying to be nosy or waste your time, we are simply attempting to avoid grief by eliminating costly and aggravating errors. Luckily, we have some of the most knowledgeable and courteous staff in the United States. Yes, that is right, we do not have call centers in other countries. I'm sure you'll agree that is a relief to talk to someone who is "on the same wavelength". That is what we strive for, at any rate. If you have a turn of the century vintage home then you should really take a look at the eggcrate style heat registers. We just recently developed the line, and it really has a vintage look like no other, and one that we are very proud of. You won't be finding them at your local "big box" store, that much is for sure!
